Arrows Club League 2024
Welcome to the Arrows Club League.
Following the sucess of the Club League re-introduced in 2023 we'll be running it again in a similar manner for 2024. It is provided to give members a fun and interesting way of participating together and competing with each other in a friendly way.
Members are encouraged to participate in League events for fun and to achieve their own running goals, but also to encourage and support their fellow Arrows. As you can see by previous results it isn't always the fastest people that win! Some of the events are also Herts Champs races so there's a chance of extra bling for you and the club!
Its a simple format again this year with Arrows able to earn club league points for racing our external league events (XC and MWRRL) plus nominated races at distances from 5k to Half Marathon. We've picked (mainly) the closest suitable events to try to encourage a large number of Arrows to attend our nominated races. The main difference this year will be that there are extra races at some distances which we've introduced :
a) as a contingency in case some events don't happen,
b) in order to make sure that competion happens throughout the entire year
c) because people asked for certain races to be included this year
To be clear though all races on the list below will score points - even if there are multiple events at a particular distance. It won't be 'the best of'.
As in 2023 there will be just one League (rather than Road and Trail) with men and ladies each competing for thier right to hold the shields for a year.

XC 4 (2024/5) – TBA? - if held in the 2024 calendar year
MWRR League races x5
4 League Races Plus Mob Match. Dates May to July 2024
MWRRL 1 - 15th May Stevenage
MWRRL 2 - 6th June Royston
MWRRL 3 - 19th June Harlow
MWRRL 4 - 27th June Trent Park

Points:
Up to 50 points per completed race regardless of distance. 50 points each first male and female home, 49 second each, through to a minimum of 1 point for every finisher even if more than 50 Arrows take part. Straight racing, no WAVAs or handicaps. No replacement races if events get cancelled. (Chip times will be used if available)
You will also be awarded points for volunteering / marshalling at XC and MWRRL fixtures if your role prevents you from running.
The rules will not normally be subject to change during year and additional races will not normally be added in during the year. Appeals or queries regarding your points should initially be raised with the League Manager via this email address. This email address is being protected from spambots. The League Manager will be asked to recommend to the committee what actions to take in the event of extraordinary, unplanned circumstances. The committee ruling will be final.
NOTE: We will only accept your time if you have run under your own name and you cannot substitute alternative races if you miss one on the list.
